FRESH START
After the devastating series of earthquakes in Christchurch, the resources for Construction in the city will be stretched. To help eleviate the stress of waiting for accomodation, Rushton Architects have produced a series of pre-manufactured buildings called the FRESH START.
These are able to be fitted as Commercial Offices, Staff Accommodation, Retail or Residential Homes. The FRESH START units are able to be transported completed.

THE HOME SHED
This home is designed for a young professional couple who wanted to move away from the tradition urban house to a home that more reflected camping. The resulting design is a pole shed like structure evoking the simplicity of the rural aesthetic and lifestyle.

LETS COPY
This project is a refurbishment of an existing commercial building for a Copy Centre. The existing two storey front section is being demolished as it is an earthquake risk and a new facade erected to the single storey section behind. Refurbishment of the entire interior completes the refurbishment.

PAVILION HOUSE
The Pavilion House is a new residence for a couple who previously lived in an Arts and Crafts residence and where looking for a new home that more reflected modern living. The small urban city site married with the design concept of a glazed living pavilion balancing against retreat-like bedroom wing found its form as a raised concrete 'box' bedroom level on stilts forming the glazed pavilion below.

MAKING AN ENTRANCE
Creating a new entrance and refurbishing the reception and staff areas of this School Administration and Hall areas are the key components to this project.
