Located on a lifestyle block in rural south Canterbury, the Brosnan Residence overlooks farmland pasture and onward to the Southern Alps.
A building orientating along the east west axis was a means to an end to maximize the views to the north and natural light. With clients’ enthusiastic about experimenting, the traditional rural home was not on the cards. The concept of two pavilions came from reflecting difference in public and private spaces in a home while providing a strong connection to the landscape.
